In 2002, Julie started both her real estate career and co-founded Domicile Properties, having no idea that those two things didn’t usually happen at the same time. That first year, Domicile Properties closed 40 transactions, and when she finally came up for air, she realized that she loved real estate and that Domicile Properties' had created a unique and visionary place in the San Francisco real estate market. She believed that creating a small brokerage afforded the co-founders an opportunity to create cutting-edge branding and a compelling vision.
The basic principles have remained the same: to only sell homes we believe in, to be fiercely honest, to bring style and creativity to every listing, that the small things matter as much as the large ones, and that every client matters.
Julie’s goal was for Domicile to be the biggest small company in San Francisco. She and her partners accomplished that goal, but in 2016, a call came from Compass, the first technology and design-fueled real estate brokerage in the world. Domicile couldn’t resist joining Compass in building the future of real estate. With this change, the Domicile Properties team now has both the personal touch that defines their brand, and the reach, support, and technology to ensure that their clients get the best of everything.
Shane brings the patience and passion of an educator and the creativity and technical knowledge of an entrepreneur, necessary in this new generation of real estate. Consistently ranked as one of the top 20 agents in San Francisco, Shane is known for his encyclopedic knowledge of the city, attention to detail, and educational approach to working with buyers and sellers. Throughout the past decade, he has helped hundreds of clients ﬁnd or sell their home.
As an educator, Shane began his career as an elementary school teacher at the prestigious San Francisco Day School. As an entrepreneur, he built a premier event planning business, specializing in high-end society weddings and commitment ceremonies. He eventually landed at Yahoo!, managing a multi-million dollar business and working with corporate executives using Yahoo’s advertising products. Yet, through it all, there was an untapped passion. Shane realized that real estate oﬀered the perfect combination of strategy, hands-on entrepreneurship, and excitement. He is continuously ranked in the top .5% of agents in San Francisco and the top 1% nationwide.
Outside of real estate Shane is the Founding Artistic Director of the award winning San Francisco musical theatre company, Ray of Light Theatre. He and his partner are also proud fathers to two amazing boys.
Stephen J. Bartlett
Stephen joins The Domicile Team at Compass bringing more than a decade of real estate experience including residential sales, commercial leasing, and retail development. Stephen loves living in San Francisco and enjoying everything the city and the Bay Area offers.
Stephen began his real estate career in New York and quickly became a top producer in his market, closing an average of forty transactions a year. Stephen’s reputation was built by honesty, integrity, and always putting his clients first. After successfully leading the residential markets, Stephen began working as a commercial developer, leading the expansion of a national retail portfolio, working with major retailers including H&M, Uniqlo, Forever21, Victoria’s Secret, Ulta Beauty, and numerous other international brands.
Stephen's passion for real estate, extensive knowledge of the market, and commitment to client satisfaction is evident in every transaction and interaction. In his free time, you can find Stephen exploring the Bay Area, either hiking the hundreds of scenic trails around S.F, sailing the Bay, skiing in Tahoe, or relaxing in Wine Country.
Sales Associate + Luxury Condo Specialist
Michael joins the Domicile Team with 20 years experience in real estate, new development condo sales and marketing, resales, property management, and luxury leasing. Having a Mother and Aunt who were both real estate brokers in Texas, Michael had an early introduction to real estate. After successfully navigating the resale market in Austin, LA, San Diego, and SF, a new opportunity was offered to him in new luxury condo development sales & marketing where he exceeded expectations as the perfect liaison between the Buyer, Developer, Builder, Architect and Broker giving special attention to every dynamic and party involved. After only a couple of years in the industry Michael became the Director of Sales of the largest condo development in Los Angeles, Metropolis. All this, yet the reward for giving special attention to a more intimate transaction that resales offer lured Michael back to working directly with buyers and sellers. Michael spends his free time with his partner and two sons.

Phil brings a background in service and fine arts to the venerable team at Domicile. He began his career in hospitality at the renowned Ritz-Carlton Kapalua in Hawaii before returning to San Francisco to further his exposure in Michelin-starred restaurants. With over a decade of experience in service-driven hotels and restaurants he’s passionate about providing the highest level of personal care and attention to detail. As a 20-year resident of San Francisco, Phil has an intimate knowledge of every corner of the City and, incidentally, can offer an insider’s recommendation for dining in just about any neighborhood.
With a degree in the Arts and a love of oil painting, Phil is well-versed in composition, color, and tone. He combines this aesthetic eye with a passion for elevated client experiences. He anticipates the needs of our clients and offers strategic solutions with care, compassion and patience.
Listing Project Manager + Designer
With years in the service industry under his belt, "Jay" brings to the Domicile Team an exceptional skill for keeping everything on track. He ensures every schedule is updated, every budget is in check and every vendor is on time.
With studies in interior staging and design, he combines this organizational prowess with an eye for design.
Amber joins the Domicile team as an interior design creative with nearly a decade of experience designing interiors and events. During her career, she produced numerous events with well over a million attendees overall. Amber worked for design firms in Southern and Northern California and she later founded her own design company where she worked directly with her clients to achieve their needs on time and within budget on every occasion. She prides herself on creatively solving otherwise difficult budget restrictions, yet maintaining the integrity of the design.
Amber has found her true passion by merging her love for interior design with her love for real estate. With Amber's design background, she is able to see the true potential in houses where most can’t see past the clutter or awkward layouts. With an eye for detail and a broad knowledge of materials, she is able to guide her clients through the hurdles of finding and purchasing a diamond in the rough.
In her free time, Amber enjoys traveling the world and snuggling her adorable French Bulldog Mila.
